Sonseekers

Our High School Youth Group is known as the Sonseekers. They meet every Sunday night from 6-7:30p.m. - occasionally later depending upon whether they are having a “regular” meeting or an activity night. Topics at meetings deal with issues that affect high school students, and members of the group are always encouraged to voice their opinions on what issues they wish to discuss with the group.

Each year, Sonseekers raise money for a mission trip that they go on during a week in June. In past years the group has traveled to places such as Neon, Kentucky; Philadelphia.; Jackson, Mississippi; and Estes Park, Colorado.

The group also have the opportunity to attend Genesis, a weekend planned for them by the Synod of the Great Lakes Youth Team that takes place every other year. Genesis is an opportunity to spend time away (at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City) with other teens from around Michigan with the purpose of strengthening their faith through speakers and musical groups. The Sonseekers also make an annual pilgrimage to Cran-Hill Ranch each year for an annual fall weekend retreat that is organized and put on by the youth leaders.
